Buffett also admitted in yesterday's show that when he started his partnership (hedge fund) 50 years ago, the money was not big, around $100k from family and relatives, which is probably around $500,000 in today's number adjusting for inflation.
Even in 70's , Buffett's networth was only several millions, not that much.
Now he is worth hundreds of billions, amazing. |

I guess things really changed for him after he went into the insurance bussiness. As he mentioned in the interview that gave him the money upfront to invest in other oppurtunities....and it does'nt hurt if you are already an expert at spoting bargains. He also mentioned that he has a lot harder time nowadays to find any bargains.....back when he ran his patnership he had 100's of candidates and he could then pick the cream of the crop. I wonder if we will ever see such a market again? |

Just wanted to post links here and found u guys already finished
that :)
I am not quite sure if it's due to the changing of the market
of due to bershire's current size. I think the main reason is
Bershire is much bigger.

Size is main issue for Buffett. His size is too big.
On the other hand, the market we are now in is not as cheap as his time 50 years ago.
I certainly don't see that much interesting picks right now. Most of time, I spent hours studying the "attractive" picks, and came out empty handed.
