Semiconductor Stocks
I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on the following stocks:

IMOS, AMKR, ASTSF, STTS

They all have extremely low forward PE ratios.

Re: Semiconductor Stocks
Hi jls1224,

Below 4 stocks are semi stocks in high tech area. Semi conductor business is extremely cyclical business. In my opinion, the whole semi sector should be avoided for value oriented long term investors. The risk/reward are not attractive.

PE alone over past 1 year earning is not reliable indication of value for cyclical stocks. Forward PE is even worse metrics, which is based on Wall Street analyst's projection of next year earning.

Even if the Wall Street analysts are correct on forward PE projection, those low forward PE in semi stocks do not necessarily mean "cheap" in value investing.
