Stratton Small Cap Value
I came across a mutual fund STSCX from kiplinger.com

I think this mutual fund is interesting and may be worth to put some money in. Comments please. Thx

do you know who the manager is? does he have any good performance over years?

I think he is pretty young, and I have not studied his performance or the fund's current holdings enough to have any conclusion. It is certainly rewarding if anybody can provide any feedbacks. Maybe I will try to study more before I am trying to decide if the fund is worth to invest, and how much to invest into it.

Maybe the fact he is young can tell something (then not facts, my surmise). Considering the unpopularity of value investment, a young guy who is trying to stick with it might understand what he is looking for, otherwise, he can try something more exciting, more eye-catching, etc.

On the other hand, mf really worth to invest is rare, (maybe in the same magnitude to find worth stock to invest). If the fund manager is just another mf manager who just follows the `standard' mf practice, I do not see any reason he will outperform others.

An article on Forbes is about Gerald Van Horn and his Stratton Small-Cap Value fund.

Maybe it is worth to read.
