Picking a broker
Hey all, I just wanted a little help chosing a broker. Being a true investor I don't trade often and I am looking for a broker with good useful information on fundamentals for us value investors?

Any help?

Hi Mosguy:

I got you email on broker question as well.

My take is that the value approach does not have particular demand on broker. You don't need super-fast execution designed for day traders, you don't need to pay higher price for research. Most of wall street researches are of little use anyway. Any reputable discount broker would do well. Most deep discount brokers would provide adequate services.

Value investing by definition is low-turnover on trading. If a value investor trades frequently in and out of same stock within days or weeks, it is more likely that something is wrong with his/her so-called "value" approach.

For my own take, I sometimes can sit in weeks or months without any trading as shown in the model portfolio I manage.
