Mi biggest mistake was to put all my savings in the Tech buble, a couple of hot funs by then, two months before the bubble exploded. Well, I'm not sure if that was the biggest mistake, maybe the biggest mistake was to forget about the money for years thinking that eventually all the investment would be recovered. Needless to say that I knew nothing then about funds and stocks.

The only good point about that is that I was 24/25 and a poor PhD student and all my savings were about 3000 Euros.

Regards.

My biggest mistake(s) include trading without a clue on what to buy/sell, trying to contra, not practising sound investment strategies, not maintaining a decent margin of safety as well as not finding out more about a company's Management before buying.

My investment mistakes are detailed in my blog. I will be updating it with one mistake every few days/weeks. Please feel free to have a visit.

Pre-crash tech binge
My biggest mistake was letting the "fun" of investing in the late '90's completely blind me to what was going on. I still remember owning Lucent at $65 and vowing to sell it the second it bounced back up to $70...and that's just one example of many, many. Sad to say.

On the other hand, if I hadn't gone through that bloodbath, I wouldn't be a value investor today, I imagine.
