Financial adviser
I am about to sign up with a Morgan Stanley financial adviser, but I'm having the jitters about signing over a significant amount of my savings. He's charging 2% on total assets for anything under 500k, 1% over. Is this normal? From what I've read, 1-1.5% was normal. He said it's because it's a custom portfolio (which is listed with Morgan Stanley).

I'm nervous because, although I've done a bit of reading on teh subject and my guy has had no disciplinary action, he still does work for Morgan Stanley and their interests may supercede mine. He may sell me what is profitable for them.

So... anyone with experience in this area that can help me figure out what I need to do? I must admit, the return for the managed accounts he is offering is pretty good, but at 2% it feels like I'm being overcharged for the name. Anyone with advice?
thanks
