Stupid Question but hope can get answer
I read a lot here today. They article is very helpful. However, I get something I am not sure or don't understand. I appreciate if someone can help me.

When blast mention PE, Does that mean P/E ratio?
What is 10k and SEC?

No problem to ask around. Any serious investor needs to learn this at beginning. :D

PE = P/E ratio, or price to earning ratio.

SEC = US Securities and Exchange Commission
This is USA government agency that regulate stock market.

10K = an annual document that US government requires all the publicly traded companies to file. This is long detailed document that any stock will have in SEC web site. This document is very useful source of information. If you want to do your own value investing research on stocks, you need to study this.

:D blast, thank you very much for reply. I am going to create an account. Still read the articles on MITBBS to find out which broker is good for me. Or maybe you have any suggetion. 10k-20k deposit. Long term. Maybe sometimes short-midterm, no more than 10%. And I am prepare to follow your BIRTP.

I did some mid-long term several years ago in China. So I don't know TA, candle picture and so on. :lol: I read your articles here and find your invest idea is very impressive. Ordered sevral book jeep suggested and gonna read it:)

You are welcome. I do not know much about comparison between brokers, or which broker is best for your situations. You can ask around and shop around.

The most common brokers are TD Waterhouse, Etrade, Ameritrade, etc.
