High level investing strategy Currently, I have my savings splited in to 3 accounts:
40%, BIRTP account
30%, Mutual Fund (probably a bad idea)
30%, in bank.
BIRTP looks so promising now, I am thinking to move some money from bank or Mutual Fund to BIRTP. But I am afraid that BIRTP is too heavy in my high level portofolio.
So what do you guys do with your savings? Especially, blast, you must be very confident with your investing strategy, how do you split your money? Do you plan to pour more money to your BIRTP account? Or you have certain amount of money in some other places, like Real estate?
Thanks. |

Asset allocation is outside service of BIRTP newsletter, so I move your question here. Therefore, it is mainly up to you to make decision on this issue and you may seek help from experts in this area.
As BIRTP already disclosed, I am investing my personal money into BIRTP model portfolio in significant amount. |

Hi, Blast,
From what I read, people are talking about when short-term interest rate cross with long-term interest rate then it is a sign of deflation and recession on the way. We are starting to see this trend recently. What's your take on this? Shall we take any step (e.g. options/futures) to hedge the big gain achieved so far in BIRTP portfolio? Or the hedge of BIRTP lies just in diversify and deep discount margin themselves.
Btw, I am a BIRTP subsriber and I have been quite enjoying the impressive performance of this portfolio since last year.
Thanks, |

I am very glad that you made big gain with BIRTP newsletter service. The goal of BIRTP is to make big money for its members.
My comments on recession talk:
I do not believe in recession theory or deflation. I believe US economy will grow, but the economic growth will be clouded with high inflation in the future.
Hedging is tool for risk control. BIRTP risk control is mainly achieved from diversification and value investing method itself. Therefore, I am not a fan of hedging.
Of course, the flexibility of newsletter service allows you to fully control your own money. But again, asset allocation, hedging against big gain of BIRTP picks are outside BIRTP service so that it is mainly up to you to decide or seek help from experts, such as personalized financial advisors. |
