PIR Although Buffet is a major holder of this stock, I believe PIR may down to below 5 soon since 1) US economy is so-so 2) customer consumption is shrinking with high energy price 3) less & less people need more pier 1 goods along with cooling-down housing market.
PIR's balance sheet looks healthy, so it may hold there for years. However, if US economy gets too bad, PIR will go BK & could be an asset play.
In a word, PIR doesn't have competitive advantage & depends on customer consumption too much.
It's not a good investment in foreseable future. |

Re: PIR "5" means much lower, nothing special, not a target. Maybe 7 or 2, who knows.

Re: PIR 3x:) I asked the question because of my past experience, when I used a lot of technique analysis. From that point of view, 5 is just a good guess. I am wondering how the FA can get the same result as TA. now I know what you mean :)

It has a healthy balance sheet. But the business has no bright points. The ROC during the past five years is below 10, current EV/EBITDA 15. With a large % of imports from China, the COGS will go up given weak USD, but revenue increase is simply not enough...
