Rule for VIF Writing Contest!
Hello Folks!

In order to create valuable content for members to enjoy, we are hosting our first writing competition here at Value Investing Forum. Our prize is small but it is real cash! :D

The winner will be awarded as Star Writer of the VIF.
The prize: 10,000 VIF points

You can get $10 USD cash immediately by selling this points to BlastInvest (see BlastInvest offer to buy VIF 10,000 points for $10 in VIF Reward Board)

10,000 VIF points can be redeemed immediately for 1 month of BIRTP subscription, which is worth $29.99. If the winner is 1st time subscriber, then an extra 30 days free trial is also available. The winner can also sell the points in Ebay for an auction, which potentially maybe able to sell for more than $10.

Bonus: any competitor is qualified for FREE Blog. Just send us msg and we will give you that.

Rule:

Any registered VIF member can compete. You can write any topic related to value investing. topic could be your personal journal story of how you start to learn or know value investing, or investing experiences or anecdote or rumors, or even stock picks.

There is also no limitation of how many articles member can submit for the competition.

Judge: Democracy here. Whoever gets most votes from registered members is the winner.

Ending date: November 30th, 2005.

Format: the article can be posted here or in your VIF blog. If it is in your blog, please post a msg in this board for voting and for linking to your blog article.

Each article here must have vote portion of 4 types:

Rating
Excellent
good
Fair
Poor

Counting the vote for winner:

Whoever get most net votes of "Excellent" + Very good" minus "poor" is the winner. If there is tie, then whoever get most "Excellent" votes wins.

Friends votes: Inviting friends to VIF to vote for you is OK. Inviting yourself with multiple emails and vote for yourself is cheating and will be disqualified for the competition. (we can detect web traffic and we will know who cheats )

I should add that there is no minimum vote count for winning the competition.

If there is nobody else compete, just post any short note here vote 1 vote yourself, you are the winner of 10,000 VIF points, or minimum of $10 cash. We will honor the reward!

Because I am the owner of VIF and BlastInvest, certainly I will not compete with you. :D

Rule Notice:

Effective today on July 24, 2006, the Value Investing Forum Contest
no longer accepts software code.

The contest is for value investing topics, including articles and discussion of stock picks, value investing method education, etc.

Value investing related software discussion and posting is welcome in the forum (tool and resource board), but we no longer accept software code submission in the contest.
